Skagit County Fire District #17 Tax Levy Ballot Measure, November 2024
On March 11, 2024, the Guemes Island Fire Department adopted R esolution No. 469 providing for the submission to the voters on November 5, 2024 a proposition authorizing the District to restore its regular property tax levy to $.50 per $1,000.00 of true and assessed valuation in 2024 for collection in 2025 to be adjusted by the CPI for each of the following five years, subject to otherwise applicable statutory limitations. This would represent a $.19 per $1,000 increase over the current tax levy rate. The Fire Department is accepting names of people interested in participating in voter pamphlet statement pro and con committees. Appointments must be made by August 6, 2024.
