This 32 hour program is designed to develop structural and wildland firefighter’s skills and knowledge in tactical decision making when confronting wildland fires in the wildland-urban interface.  Topics include interface awareness, size-ups, initial strategy and incident action plans, structure triage and protection tactics, public relations, and firefighter safety in the interface.  Afternoon sessions will be outdoors with hands on skills development and interface scenarios.  The class is open to all active firefighters with approval from their department or agency.  Participants with current Red Card certification will receive an NWCG course certificate upon successful completion of a final written exam.   All participants are required to bring full wildland PPE and wildland engine (if possible).  Lunch and refreshments provided.
