..A WIND ADVISORY IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR THE NORTH INTERIOR OF
WESTERN WASHINGTON UNTIL 6 PM FRIDAY EVENING...

.STRONG WINDS ALOFT ARE DEVELOPING AHEAD OF A FRONTAL SYSTEM THAT
IS STALLING OVER THE COASTAL WATERS TODAY. THE STRONG WINDS ALOFT
WILL INTERACT WITH THE OLYMPIC MOUNTAINS...RESULTING IN GUSTY
SOUTHEAST WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH SOME GUSTS TO 55 MPH TODAY
THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON. THE FRONT WILL BEGIN WEAKENING FRIDAY
NIGHT AND SATURDAY...RESULTING IN A DECREASE IN WIND SPEEDS.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SEATTLE HAS ISSUED A WIND
ADVISORY FOR THE NORTHERN INTERIOR OF WESTERN WASHINGTON...WHICH
IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM PST FRIDAY.

* SOME AFFECTED LOCATIONS...FRIDAY HARBOR...BELLINGHAM...OAK
 HARBOR...AND ANACORTES.

* WINDS...SOUTHEAST WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH SOME GUSTS TO 55 MPH.

* TIMING...WINDS WILL INCREASE THIS MORNING AND CONTINUE THROUGH
 FRIDAY AFTERNOON BEFORE SLOWLY TAPERING OFF FRIDAY NIGHT.

* IMPACTS...WINDS OF THIS MAGNITUDE CAN TOPPLE SOME TREES AND
 RESULT IN LOCAL POWER OUTAGES.

A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS OF 30 TO 39 MPH OR
GUSTS OF 45 TO 57 MPH ARE LIKELY. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN SNAP
SMALL TREE BRANCHES...TOPPLE SMALL OR SHALLOW-ROOTED TREES...AND
CAUSE LOCAL POWER OUTAGES.
