..COLD WEATHER LOOSENING ITS GRIP LATE THIS WEEKEND...

A WEATHER SYSTEM MOVING ACROSS NORTHWEST OREGON THIS EVENING WILL PRODUCE UP TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW OVER THE SOUTHWEST INTERIOR FROM GRAND MOUND AND CENTRALIA ON SOUTH THROUGH LEWIS COUNTY. ANOTHER SYSTEM WILL FOLLOW A SIMILAR PATH ON FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY MORNING...BRINGING A RENEWED CHANCE OF SNOW TO THE SOUTHWEST INTERIOR FROM OLYMPIA ON SOUTH. ELSEWHERE ACROSS WESTERN WASHINGTON...FLURRIES OR MERELY COLD AND DRY WEATHER ARE EXPECTED THROUGH SATURDAY.

BY SUNDAY...THE FLOW OF COLD CANADIAN AIR INTO WESTERN WASHINGTON WILL HAVE EASED. WITH THE HELP OF RISING PRESSURE ALOFT...THIS WILL ALLOW THE AIR MASS OVER WESTERN WASHINGTON TO GRADUALLY MODIFY ON SUNDAY. THERE IS A SMALL CHANCE OF SNOW CHANGING TO RAIN ON SUNDAY...BUT IT IS MORE LIKELY THAT SUNDAY WILL REMAIN DRY. A WARM FRONT ON SUNDAY NIGHT OR MONDAY WILL ARRIVE WITH RAIN OVER THE LOWLANDS...EXCEPT POSSIBLY BEGINNING AS A LITTLE SNOW OVER WESTERN WHATCOM COUNTY THROUGH MONDAY MORNING.
